Ten gigabit uplinks with Layer 3 capability

The smallest Layer 3 managed PoE switch with a 10G uplink, called PLANET IGS-5225-8P2S2X, is ideally suited for industrial networks. The IGS-5225-8P2S2X satisfies the requirements of high power consumption and high bandwidth for 11ac Gigabit Wi-Fi APs and other PoE applications like those requiring heavy traffic loading. It has eight gigabit ports with 36-watt 802.3at PoE+ and two 10Gbps SFP+ uplink slots.

The IGS-5225-8P2S2X is equipped with a tough IP30 metal housing and a wide operating temperature range of -40 to 75 degrees C, enabling it to work steadily in harsh industrial situations. As a result, the IGS-5225-8P2S2X offers exceptional immunity to electromagnetic interference and strong electrical surges, which are typically encountered on plant floors or in curbside traffic control cabinets. To make the best use of available cabinet space, the IGS-5225-8P2S2X also supports installation to either a DIN-rail or a wall.

Fast Recovery for Critical Network Applications with Redundant Ring

To avoid disruptions and outside intrusions, the IGS-5225-8P2S2X utilizes redundant ring technology and has a powerful, quick self-recovery capability. To increase system dependability and uptime in challenging factory conditions, it integrates modern ITU-T G.8032 ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching) technology, Spanning Tree Protocol (802.1s MSTP), and redundant power input system. The recovery time of a data link in a ring network can be as quick as 10ms.

A 10Gb Ethernet solution that is adaptable and extensible

A significant advancement in Ethernet technology is 10G Ethernet. The IGS-5225-8P2S2X's 10G SFP+ slots support triple speed and 10GBASE-SR/LR, 2500BASE-X, or 1000BASE-SX/LX, offering large amounts of bandwidth and potent computing power. The administrator can now choose the ideal SFP/SFP+ transceiver depending on the transmission distance or the transmission speed required to expand the network effectively thanks to its 2-port, 10G Ethernet link capability.

Real-time PoE Indicator with Intelligent LED

The IGS-5225-8P2S2X's sophisticated LED indication makes it simple and effective for users to check the status of PoE power usage. The Industrial Gigabit PoE+ Switch's front panel contains four orange LEDs that represent the 60W, 120W, 180W, and 240W of PoE power consumption.

Recycled Power on Schedule

Each of the connected PoE IP cameras or PoE wireless access points can reboot on a weekly schedule thanks to the IGS-6325-16P4S. As a result, it will lessen the likelihood that a buffer overflow may cause an IP camera or AP to crash.

PoE Schedule for Energy Saving

Under the trend of energy saving worldwide and contributing to environmental protection on the Earth, the IGS-5225-8P2S2X can effectively control the power supply besides its capability of giving high watts power. The built-in “PoE schedule” function helps you to enable or disable PoE power feeding for each PoE port during specified time intervals and it is a powerful function to help SMBs or enterprises save power and money.

Scheduled Power Recycling

The IGS-6325-16P4S allows each of the connected PoE IP cameras or PoE wireless access points to reboot at a specific time each week. Therefore, it will reduce the chance of IP camera or AP crash resulting from buffer overflow.

ONVIF devices having a detection feature that are practical and smart

A fantastic new feature from PLANET called ONVIF Support was created expressly to work with video IP surveillance systems. You only need one click from the IGS-5225-8P2S2X GUI to search and display every ONVIF device using network application. Additionally, you can remotely monitor what's happening on the assembly line by uploading floor photos to the switch. Additionally, you can access online/offline status information and real-time surveillance information, as well as control PoE reboots from the GUI.

For Industrial Computing Networks, 1588 Time Protocol

The IGS-5225 series supports MEF service delivery and timing over packet solutions for IEEE 1588 and synchronous Ethernet, making it the perfect choice for telecom and carrier Ethernet applications.

Layer 3 Software VLAN Routing for Secure and Flexible Management using IPv4 and IPv6

The IPv4/IPv6 software VLAN routing feature of the IGS-5225 series enables customers to cross different VLANs and different IP addresses for the purpose of having a highly-secure, flexible management, and simpler networking application. These features help customers stay on top of their businesses in addition to offering ultra high transmission performance and excellent Layer 2 technologies.

An efficient alarm alert for increased protection

The Fault Alarm feature of the IGS-5225 series can notify users when there is a problem with the switches. The users wouldn't have to waste time figuring out where the issue is with this great functionality. It will contribute to time and human resource savings.

Alert for SMTP/SNMP Trap Events

The IGS-5225 series offers an event alert capability to assist in diagnosing an abnormal device caused by a lost network connection or a rebooting response.

External Alarm Digital Input and Digital Output

On its front panel, the IGS-5225 series offers digital input and output. With the use of this external alarm, users can use digital input to track the condition of external devices (such door incursion detectors) and send event alarms to administrators. If the IGS-5225 series port indicates a link down, link up, or power failure, the administrators could be alerted via the digital output.

Layer 2 through Layer 4 Features that are Strong

Advanced switch management features like dynamic port link aggregation, Q-in-Q VLAN, private VLAN, Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol, Layer 2 to Layer 4 QoS, bandwidth control, and IGMP snooping can be programmed into the IGS-5225 series. The 802.1Q tagged VLAN offered by the IGS-5225 series allows for a maximum of 255 VLAN groups. The IGS-5225-8P2S2X enables the operation of a high-speed trunk integrating several ports through the aggregation of supporting ports. It supports fail-over and allows for a maximum of six trunk groups, each with four ports.

Flexible Network Connectivity for Factory Automation is provided through Modbus TCP.

The IGS-5225 series can readily connect with SCADA systems, HMI systems, and other data acquisition systems in factory floors thanks to the Modbus TCP/IP protocol that is supported. Administrators may simply improve factory monitoring and maintenance by remotely monitoring the industrial Ethernet switch's working information, port information, and connection status.
