Standard, VLAN, and Extend operation modes are offered by the WGS-814HP. In its default operating mode, the WGS-814HP is a conventional IEEE 802.3at/PoE+ switch.

The port-based VLAN function, which is a component of the VLAN operating mode, can assist in preventing the IP camera's multicast or broadcast storm from interfering with one another. Two uplink ports with a 1000Mbps transfer rate provide high-speed data and video transmission as well as stable connection assurance for the surveillance system and outside network, allowing for full utilization of the four PoE+ ports.

The WGS-814HP can support 20 watts of PoE power output over a distance of up to 250 meters when operating in the extend operation mode, exceeding the 100 meter limit of Ethernet UTP cable. The WGS-814HP offers an extra solution for 802.3at PoE distance extension with this brand-new capability, minimizing the expense of Ethernet cable installation. In the extended operation mode, its VLAN isolation capability isolates ports to guard against DHCP spoofing and prevent broadcast storm.

Distribution of Small Ethernet Networking's Centralized Power

The WGS-814HP offers four PoE ports with a combined output power budget of up to 60 watts to support applications for small-scale PoE networks. Each PoE port complies with IEEE 802.3at and IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet standards, and it can offer up to 30 watts of output power and Gigabit-speed data transmission over a single Cat. 5e/6 Ethernet cable to power remote PoE PD devices up to 100 meters away.

Real-time PoE Indicator with Intelligent LED

The WGS-814HP uses a Power Budget Control function to make auto power management easier and assist prevent power budget excess. Additionally, the WGS-814HP's sophisticated LED indication enables users to quickly and easily check the status of PoE power utilization. The WGS-814HP's front panel contains four LEDs labeled "PoE Power Usage" that show the amount of power being used at 15W, 30W, 45W, and 60W.
