The PLANET IGTP-80xT Industrial Gigabit Media Converter combines Ethernet media conversion (from 1000BASE-X to 10/100/1000BASE-T) with an 802.3at Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) injector to offer high data transmission speeds and up to 30 watts of power output to PDs (powered devices) installed in a remote location. Its 1000BASE-X fiber optic uplink connector allows for long-distance, high-speed, reliable data transfer to a remote core network. The innovative and useful power system of the IGTP-80xT enables either 12-48V DC power input or 24V AC power input for power redundancy and operational flexibility.
Because of its IP30 rugged casing and temperature operating range of -40 to 75 degrees C, the IGTP-80xT can be used in virtually any demanding situation.
The Range of Network Deployment Is Expanded by Fiber-Optic Link Capability
The maximum distance between a PoE PSE (power supply equipment) and PD through an Ethernet connection is 100 meters. For applications demanding greater distances and to extend the PoE deployment range, the IGTP-80xT features a fiber interface. The IGTP-80xT uses the following fiber connector:
1000BASE-SX multi-mode and transmission distances of up to 550 meters are supported via the IGTP-802T fiber SC connector.
IGTP-802TS: Fiber SC connector with a 10-kilometer single-mode 1000BASE-LX transmission range.
The IGTP-805AT's SFP slot supports 100BASE-FX/1000BASE-X multi/single mode SFP modules and can support transmission distances of up to 120km (depending on the SFP module).
Long fiber distances are still supported by the IGTP-80xT, which also maintains transmission speeds of up to 1000Mbps. It functions using the high-performance Store and Forward method and prevents packet loss with IEEE 802.3x flow control and the LFP (Link Fault Passthrough) feature in the DIP switch design. Additionally, it might provide a trustworthy means to monitor network power usage and immediately notify administrators of issues with the connection medium.
Plug and Play High Power Sourcing Solution
The IGTP-80xT is IEEE 802.3at compliant and provides up to 30 watts of PoE output power, which is twice as much as 802.3af. Additionally, it provides backwards compatibility with 802.3af PoE standards, allowing users to simultaneously deploy low-powered and high-powered devices without the need for software modification. By supplying data and Power over Ethernet from a single unit, the IGTP-80xT can simplify cable deployment and eliminate the need for particular electrical outlets on the wall, ceiling, or any other hard-to-reach area.
