The PLANET IFB-244 Series is an ultra-fast auto-recovering solution to prevent and preserve fiber network connection during power loss in order to safeguard the crucial fiber optic network from power system failure.
The IFB-244 Series is a 2-channel duplex or 4-channel simplex optical fiber connection with optical bypass function industrial-grade optical fiber bypass switch with built-in 4 duplex LC or SC connectors. The optical fiber connectors can handle connections at speeds of 100Gbps, 40Gbps, 10Gbps, 1Gbps, and 100Mbps. When there is a power outage, it immediately redirects the optic network traffic to avoid a connection breakdown. Additionally, it enables the local network switch to be changed or uninstalled without disrupting the network.
Mechanism for Optical Fiber Bypass
The IFB-244 Series uses fiber-to-fiber technology to produce switching times that are incredibly quick and with extremely low losses. Two of the fiber ports are connected to two distant fiber switches, while the other two are connected to a local fiber switch. The local fiber Ethernet switch and the IFB-244 Series are powered by the same power supply.
The IFB-244 Series functions in the Normal mode when the system is powered on and forwards Ethernet packets between two distant fiber switches and the local fiber switch.
The IFB-244 Series operates in the Bypass mode in the event of a system power outage, bypassing the local fiber switch and sending Ethernet packets straight between two remote fiber switches.
The network communication between two remote fiber switches and a local fiber switch continues after the system power is restored.

When IFB-244 is turned on in normal mode, packets are forwarded between two distant network switches and the local switch.
Passive Modepower outage IFB 244 bypasses the local switch and sends packets directly between two remote network switches.

For Ethernet ESD protection, the IFB-244 Series offers contact discharge of 6KV DC and air discharge of 8KV DC. In order to increase product stability and safeguard users' networks from damaging ESD attacks, it also offers 6KV surge immunity. This ensures that business operations run smoothly.

In the example below, if power supply 1 stops functioning, the hardware failover capability will automatically turn on so that IFB-244 Series devices can continue to be powered by power supply 2 without interruption.
