Wall-mount PoE Managed Switch, Advanced L2+/L4 Switching, and Security
The PLANET WGS-5225-8P2S is an industrial wall-mount PoE managed switch that leverages PLANET intelligent PoE to improve the availability of industrial applications. Eight 10/100/1000BASE-T ports with 36-watt PoE, an integrated L2+/L4 Gigabit switching engine, IPv6/IPv4 dual stack management, and two additional 1000BASE-X SFP ports are included. With a total power budget of up to 240 watts for various PoE applications, networking speed, and an operating temperature range of -40 to 75 degrees C in a tiny but sturdy IP30 metal chassis, the WGS-5225-8P2S is the ideal choice to satisfy the need for the following network applications.
Network for home and building automation
Internet of Things (IoT) IP surveillance
Redundant Ring and Fast Recovery for Critical Network Applications
The WGS-5225-8P2S uses redundant ring technology and has a strong, quick self-recovery capacity to prevent interruptions and outside intrusions. It incorporates contemporary ITU-T G.8032 ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching) technology, Spanning Tree Protocol (802.1s MSTP), and dual power input system to boost system reliability and uptime in demanding production circumstances. In a certain simple ring network, a data link's recovery time can be as quick as 10ms.
ONVIF devices with practical and clever detection features
The amazing new ONVIF Support functionality from PLANET was developed especially to function with video IP surveillance systems. The WGS-5225-8P2S's GUI makes searching and viewing every ONVIF device possible with only one click using network applications. The switch also enables you to remotely examine or monitor an assembly line and upload floor images. Additionally, you might receive online/offline status, real-time surveillance data, and GUI-controlled PoE reboots.
Special PoE features that are built-in for managed powered devices
Given that it is the managed PoE switch for WLAN, VoIP, and surveillance networks, the WGS-5225-8P2S has the following special PoE management features:
Schedule for PoE and monitoring PoE usage with Intelligent Powered Device Alive Check for periodic PD life checks.
The WGS-5225-8P2S can be configured to continuously monitor the connected PD status via ping action. When it stops running and responding, the WGS-5225-8P2S will resume the PoE port power and the PD, restoring its functionality. Network dependability will be greatly increased by the PoE port's ability to reset the PD's power source and reduce administrative workload.
Power Recycled As Scheduled
The WGS-5225-8P2S allows each of the connected PoE IP cameras or PoE wireless access points to reboot every week. As a result, it will be less likely for an IP camera or AP to crash due to a buffer overflow.
Energy Schedule for PoE
In addition to its ability to produce high wattages of power, the WGS-5225-8P2S can effectively control the power supply in line with the global trend of energy conservation and help to safeguard the environment. Since it allows you to enable or disable PoE power feeding for each PoE port during predefined time intervals, the "PoE schedule" function is a powerful tool for SMBs or corporations to save money and electricity. It also enhances security by turning off PDs that shouldn't be used after hours.
Wall-mount Installation Today
The WGS-5225-8P2S is designed to fit in a compact area, such as a wall enclosure or electrical box. The compact, flat, and wall-mounted form is easily adaptable to any space with a limited amount of space. When the WGS-5225-8P2S is contained in an enclosure, it features the user-friendly "Front Access" design, which makes it very simple for workers to install, cable wire, monitor, and repair the device. The WGS-5225-8P2S's ability to be installed on a fixed wall, a magnetic wall, or a DIN rail increases its adaptability in use.
SMTP/SNMP Trap Events Alert
The WGS-5225-8P2S provides an event alert feature to help diagnose an irregular device brought on by a lost network connection or a device rebooting response.
IPv4 and IPv6 Layer 3 Software VLAN Routing for Secure and Flexible Management
The WGS-5225-8P2S offers great Layer 2 technologies, extremely high transmission performance, and IPv4/IPv6 software VLAN routing to assist customers stay on top of their enterprises. Customers can use this functionality to traverse different VLANs and IP addresses, resulting in a more user-friendly networking application and a flexible, highly secure administration environment.
Reliable Layer 2 capabilities
The WGS-5225-8P2S may be configured with advanced switch management capabilities like dynamic port link aggregation, Q-in-Q VLAN, private VLAN, Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol, Layer 2 to Layer 4 QoS, bandwidth control, and IGMP snooping. The 802.1Q tagged VLAN offered by the WGS-5225-8P2S supports up to 255 VLAN groups. Through the aggregation of supporting ports, the WGS-5225-8P2S enables the operation of a high-speed trunk integrating several ports. It permits a maximum of two trunk groups with two ports each and supports fail-over.
An Intelligent SFP Diagnosis Mechanism
The WGS-5225-8P2S supports the SFP-DDM (Digital Diagnostic Monitor) capability, which greatly simplifies the task of keeping track of real-time SFP parameters like optical output power, optical input power, temperature, laser bias current, and transceiver supply voltage for network administrators.
